this is an incredibly beautiful trail, wish we did the whole thing, unfortunately couldnt go further, bridge gone after 1.5 mile hike in, forest service notice pretty clear about closure

Great trail! Wish we had time to explore all 33 miles of it. Looks like the trail gets a bit more difficult the further back you go but the first few miles are a nice warmup. Wear good hiking boots, definitely some narrow sections you will want good grip. Beautiful scenery, unbelievable rainforest with unique flora. Restrooms: Restrooms are glorified outhouses. Would be nice if they offered a little lime to cover up the smell in the restrooms, but it's a hiking trail so you can't expect much.

The trailhead to a wonderful five day challenging adventure ahead! The trail begins along the river for several miles, leading to the first campsite, Canyon City. Be prepared for cool weather, mosquitoes, and you will be amazed to find out that you carried too much weight and that you should have trained harder for this ascent!
