My significant other has a 2013 Hyundai Elentra driven gently for about 60,000 miles. I had read that this dealer offers a pretty good deal on oil/filter changes, so I recommended she go there. Unfortuantely they tried to swindle her by recommending a 60,000 miles service for almost $1000 that was totally bogus. It included totally false services that are not recommended by Hyundai. For example, a timing belt inspection (the car has a timing chain and there is no inspection service recomendation, it is considered a lifetime part), sparkplug change (Hyundai's recommended service interval is 105,000 miles, true for modern electronic ignition), coolant flush (Hyundai's coolant CHANGE - not flush - is scheduled at 120,000 miles, and flushes are a waste unless the coolant is seriously contaminated), brake fluid flush (brake fluid has a 30,000 mile inspection interval and should be measured for moisture content before determining if a flush is needed. It could be.). Also, they told her she should have her next oil change in 3,000 miles. They should tell Hyundai that, because the official oil change interval is 7,500 miles. They might argue that the shorter interval reflects Arizona's ellevated summer temperatures, implying this qualifies as "severe" driving conditions. Give me a break! With decent cooling systems, the motor and drivetrain hardly notices the warmth, and run at the same temperature. Anyway, I found this scandalous and recommended my partner just get the oil/filter change and get out of there. Car service centers have a known reputation for trying to take advantge of female customers who they think are likely not to understand the details of car maintenance. And on top of that, this instance was perpetrated by a female service writer! I don't think she made this up on the spot. This appeared to be the dealer's modus operandi.

They were very accommodating when I called for an appointment and were happy to help in whatever way they could. They took care of all of my concerns at the appointment and went the extra mile and even washed my car! Thank you!

This is a review of only the servicing departments ability to schedule an appointment. The lady on the phone was very nice and great to talk to. She gave me several date/time options and let me pick. I was able to get in the next day at just about any time. We got the appointment scheduled and were confirming it then I accidentally hung up on her. I'm so sorry if you're reading this. I got the confirmation so I didn't bother calling back. But will probably feel bad about it for a while.
