It is no secret that finding the perfect place to call "home" in LA/Burbank is no easy feat. Thanks to Marjorie, the search, and ultimate decision to call TVATLA "home," couldn't have been easier. Time and time again Marjorie answered ALL of our questions and made us feel like we were family instead of strangers. We could not recommend her (and Sydney) enough! Talk about a tenant-first approach to onboarding -- refreshing, welcoming and a step above the rest. Thank you, Marjorie!

***RENTERS BEWARE*** I know this is a lot but hopefully it saves you from dealing with the current issues I am experiencing. This is my second review here, I had to delete the previous review as I cannot leave two and Jen, the new property manager, lied in response about settling all issues. I was never contacted about any of the issues I am about to lay out, my first review will be pasted below as well. Any response from their team is most likely another lie. Please also be advised Jen lied to me about living in an apartment with mold for several months, putting my health at risk. Please refer to my experience below and the photos I have provided to save yourself the headache, there are better places to live. The pictures I have provided consist of the following: - screenshot of google search showing lawsuits against Essex for the same reasons I am about to explain. A consistent, national occurrence - mushrooms growing out the walls in the unit above - mold lining the walls of my shower - a large mold spot from a leak in the unit above - yellow leakage from the mold in the unit above (they are trying to charge me for this) - incomplete maintenance work (they are trying to charge me for this) After finally managing to move out of this disgusting building, Essex is attempting to steal $1000 from me. I moved out due to poor living conditions and inconsistent rent prices with the surrounding market. I was informed my rent would increase to over $3400 monthly, despite a market price of $600 less marketed on their website. I am being charged for the following after move out. - incomplete work from the maintenance manager (work orders) - dirty/hard water coming into the unit, leaving rust behind - leaks all over the apartment from mold and flooding in the unit above - dirt/normal wear and tear over a 2.5 year period - patched walls from the previous tenant - prepping the apartment for the next tenant Despite my constant attempts of peacefully settling this, all communication from me has been blatantly ignored, and met with threats of collections. Essex is known for unlawfully withholding deposits. They no longer hold my deposit because they attempted to illegally bait and switch me into a smaller, unlivable apartment almost 3 years ago. Because of this I convinced them to give me my deposit back, so they are now threatening to send me to collections if I do not pay for the issues mentioned above. My first review from a year ago is pasted below as well as pictures attached: Do not move in here! You are not receiving what you are paying for! This complex is EXTREMELY overpriced. Essex is known for fraud. - There have been too many break-ins to count, single women have been targeted over the course of 2 months, but nothing has been done at this point. - There was a mold issue that the front office lied about, putting many tenants health at risk. There were literally mushrooms growing out of the walls but they did not tell neighboring units. - The laundry room is either dirty or just simply broken - Rent is raised for tenants while simultaneously lowered for new people moving in. - Consistent bills, like trash, are raised an abnormal amount without any warning. (our trash went from $20 - $65 with no notice) - There has been an ant infestation in the pipes since I moved in here (2 years) that has yet to be solved. - There is a sewage issue throughout the building, many units have flooded. - The wiring for wifi is extremely poor and they refuse to fix it, you will not have a good connection here. - mailboxes have been broken into. All of our mail was stolen, several times. The way they maneuver is very shady, if they can take advantage of you, they will. From a surface level this place looks great. You are better off finding somewhere else to live
