Avis Car Rental

Absolutely horrendous rental experience. I had a wait quite a bit of time to pick up the car I had reserved online. I then found out months later that Avis had incorrectly placed me on a DNR list. This was after traveling 1.5 hours by train to pick up the car. This completely disrupted my travel plans as you can imagine. The attendant could give me no information as to why and gave me a number to dial that did not work. I later found out there was a payment issue. Long story short, I sent Avis documentation from my bank showing that I put down a credit card which they did indeed charge. I was then shuffled from department to department for months and till now, Avis has not resolved this issue. I have not had a worse customer experience in my life and I absolutely will never do business with Avis again.

Bring your patience!!! Very long wait time to pickup vehicle 2hrs + standing outside. So make sure you dress for the weather. Inspect your vehicle before accepting it. They tried to give us a 6 passenger suv, we reserved a 7 passenger caravan. 2nd vehicle wasn't that clean on the inside but it was a 7 passenger vehicle so we took it. Gas tank wasn't filled up. They never checked gas and mileage of the vehicle before we pulled off. So, make sure you take pictures for proof.

Terrible experience. Queue was so long with only one person working. 1.5h wait. Avis preferred and the quick pass email makes no difference at all. Rude staff, just made to sign paper with no explanation. Keys then handed to us and off we went. Garage is very dark and cars parked tightly together. Once I had left and got out the vehicle I noticed it had a lot of damage and was filthy! Something that was hard to see in the garage. What a surprise they have tried to blame me for the damage on returning it. Never had such a bad experience renting a car. From the location, staff and cars! nothing is good about this Avis. So disappointed! Have already started a claim against them and will never use them again. Every review Ive now read on here is 100% true please think about using them.
