R. Neill Borland

I was referred to Dr. Borland by my interest be cause of rising PSA numbers. Diagnosis" Prostate CA - not good surgical candidate. Treatment" radiation and hormones. Cancer: gone (at least for now.) This is the most patient unfriendly practice I have ever experienced. No patient portal, no phone menu option to leave message for doctor, phones rarely answered promptly. If you are lucky enough to leave a message with someone don't count on prompt or eventual return call. Doctor's Excuse: can't hire enough staff- nonsense. Practice not designed to be responsive to patients.

If you are considering Dr. Neil Borland for your urological problems, reconsider it for you or a loved one. He has no regard for his patients or his patients safety. He has no bedside manner. He is rude. He doesnt believe you when you tell him your symptoms. You can truly tell he does not care about you. If you have a problem after hours you wont get help. My pharmacist sent a refill request 3 times for a medication he had me on for years, and never responded. When I called and left a message twice, he never responded. I am not so much angry just ready to find another urologist, but feel I should warn others.

20 or so years ago my wife and all her friends referred me to Dr. Borland. She and her friends are all nurses and doctors. Most all these people had worked with or had been personally treated by Dr. Borland.Twenty years of treatment later I give him 5 STARS. I almost never write reviews and have little respect for someone who goes out of their way to try to hurt a professional reputation by writing a bad review. Their anecdotal complaints about having to wait 45 minutes for example are not helpful to someone looking for superior treatment and the physician that can best serve you. So for those of you looking for a great Urologist, here what I like about Borland: He listens. Amazingly intelligent (no surprise). Trained at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Board verified in Urology. Practicing in Palm Beach County for close to 40 years. Very very professional. If you have to wait to be seen, you can be assured that he is well worth the wait.

Reviews have consequences. I rated this with the same rating that I see here so as not to impact the score. I am 'shopping' for a urologist in the area and was given two names by my GP's office to check out. I do not expect perfection. But, when you see as many as 10 reviews with an average of three stars, that's a red flag for me. I rely on the gut impressions of the consumers who have gone before. The other name I was given has 20 reviews with 4-1/2 stars. Every office (even that one) seems to suffer with poor or spotty responses to the patient, which is a heavy factor in my book. But, this particular one seems to be outstandingly offensive in the public relations department. I thought that I would leave my comment so that this office would be aware of the consequences of getting a poor overall review, with the hope that a truly competent physician would realize the harm done to his practice for not watching the front-facing aspects in his office. That's fair, right? Moving on . . .

If I could I WOULDN'T give him any stars. Here is my experience with this person. Made appointment with him for kidney stone he order a catscan it was Scheduled for a Friday but Thursday night ended up going to hospital for extreme pain. Hospital got me out of pain sent me home with pain medication and said there is nothing more they could do So Friday morning I called the So called doctor Because I was in pain taking pain medication having stomach issues with the pain medication called again in the afternoon and another time that day never call back now it's the weekend and I knew I wasn't going to get in touch with anybody call Monday morning talk to people in the office saying they were gonna send him a message leave a message on his desk no call back call the following day more than once no call back It took him 6 days yes 6 days to call me back and ask me how am I feeling and I told them I was in pain in I've been in pain all week And he says do you want me to do surgery and I told him NO I already got somebody else. it took you 6 days to call me back which is ridiculous someone that has had kidney stones before which he has had knows the pain that you go through and for him not to call back a patient for 6 days is totally ridiculous I would not recommend him at all how you could do this to any person is Totally Unacceptable
