Kennesaw Mountain High School

Kennesaw Mountain is a recognized award-winning school with many success stories after graduation. You might start here because of those accolades, but you'll finish with the view that Mustang family is a unique experience.Four kids in gives us some perspective, and starting with academic rigor, to community service opportunities, with extra-curricular options galore, KMHS is an incredible experience.The Magnet program is a shining star for STEM prep, consistently producing students who succeed and excel at top universities. The Magnet crew is stellar all-around, and our kids made long-term quality friendships lasting beyond high school. We've had our runs but never been an athletic powerhouse, partly due to being the smallest 7A school by far in the state (moving to 6A in '20). Despite that Mustangs have frequented state tourneys/meets, and enjoyed great developmental coaches. From personal experience, the swim coach is the best in the state.Beyond the classroom the service opportunities include Mane Link, an outstanding servant leadership organization. The Special Needs Dance and Shop With A Mustang are two examples of how amazing this group is.Good teachers, supportive parent network, happy students are what you'll find at the Mountain.

KMHS would be a OUTSTANDING school, if they had administrators who really wants to be there to help, mentor, and teach our kids. Ms. Bailey i.e Coach, Algebra II teacher is VERY discouraging towards students, administrators, and parents. She doesn't return phone calls, she doesn't respond to emails, and her teaching style is HORRIBLE! My son was VERY RESPECTFUL towards her and some of things he would come home and tell me about how she talks, treats, and belittle other students made my mouth drop. They don't make "teachers" the way they did when I was growing up, where teachers actually "cared" about their student's "progress" instead they're immature, ignorant, and subliminal towards students. She REFUSED to TEACH the class, she handed out assignments to students and expect them to know how to do the work, then when a student has a "question" (Which FYI is her JOB!) she says sarcastic remarks to where the student shuts down. She's very unprofessional, childish, and unapproachable
