So worth the visit and entrance fee to the waterfall. Beautiful scenery on the easy walk to the waterfall all paved and not hard lots of vegetation to look at. You have to get there when it opens to avoid the crowds otherwise it wont be enjoyable in the water. Life jackets are given to you for free at the top and the water isnt too cold! We walked all the way with no car and it wasnt too bad

Please realize that there is so much more history and culture to this area than just the waterfall- a wonderful place to visit.

Waimea Valley is a short, paved hike through a gorgeous collection of fruits, nuts, flowers, and other vegetation with a waterfall at the end. You can opt to swim at the falls but they make you wear a lifejacket no matter the conditions. We also found pleasant cultural experiences with free games and tribal hut excursions.
