Matt was responsive and took the time to explain the issue to me and my husband. I do believe theyre knowledgeable and likely fixed our plumbing problem but time will tell. My issue is the PRICING. Please be aware they will throw out extra fees at you and expect you to know already. They initially quoted me $80 to come do a diagnosis and to put me on the schedule. Matt estimated that my plumbing problem would probably be a 2 HR job. So he said, if I agree to pay for a 2 hr job, he would deduct the $80 from the 2 hr service cost. He did NOT mention that there would extra fees over the phone. He just said the job could possibly take longer. When Matt and his apprentice got to my house, they diagnosed the issue and realized it was something different than what they expected. My plumbing problem did not take 2 hours to fix, it took probably about 15 mins of work. They were here for a little over an hour in total. however, I had already agreed to pay for 2 hrs minimum so I was fine to pay it. BUT, despite doing a 15 min job, Matt still charged me an additional $40 for a discharge fee and $40 for a consumable fee (whatever that is). So my $80 diagnosis fee was conveniently taken off to cover these extra fees which were not mentioned to me beforehand. So I still had to pay the full 2 hours service/labor fee. When I told Matt he didnt mention extra fees over the phone, he said yes I did and said every company charges extra fees. I didnt want to argue. As I started to just think about it, he immediately said they could leave and I can get someone else to do the job. I knew that I fell for the sale tactic. I had already paid $80 so why I would go with someone else and probably pay them for another diagnosis. And again, the $80 wasnt even taken off because there was an additional $80 fee added on. I also did not appreciate that Matt mentioned that he has to use his own towels to clean up the water puddles (which he factored into the consumable fee) but we let them use our wet vac no problem to complete their job. We didnt ask them to deduct the price for using our wet vac anyways, just be aware of extra fees. We shouldnt be expected to know about these fees and they should be at least mentioned beforehand. If I do happen to call them again or any other company at least I know now that theyll throw fees at you.

Grace We initially spoke I did in fact mention a dispatch fee to you. You called us for a drain blockage and I told you we could just do an hourly rate with a 2 hour minimum that would have the dispatch fee attached to it. We decided to leave it at a diagnostic quote because I said I would reimburse back to you. This is something we never give back to the customer typically. We arrived at your home at 8 am and left at 9:45 am this job was not even close to 15 min. Upon arrival Fox Valley Plumbing was informed by you that you had another plumber fix this issue twice and it failed. We wanted to use the vacuum to try and clean the large amount of water that was leaking from under the shower base because we could not reach by hand. We simple could have left this mess and just wiped the floor up with our towels like stated. However we didn't feel that would be a very good service. We quickly found the problem and had all the repair parts on the truck. I explained what the issue was and at that point the diagnosis was successful. I explained the invoicing in writing which you agreed to. The dollar amount did not change from what you agreed to. There were in fact no hidden fees because you were told the exact invoice amount before you signed to the agreement. Fox valley Plumbing also went above and beyond and cleaned out the old floor drain, tested there well pump for gallons per min and took a sample of their well water to get tested so they can get sized for a new water treetment system. This sample will need to get dropped off to the lab which Fox Valley Plumbing will do as a courtesy for the customer. We were very clear with the dollar amount before the customer agreed to the cost. The diagnosis and repair were both successful not to mention we had a full inventory of parts to fix the issue. Fox valley plumbing arrived on time to the customers preferred schedule with 2 workers and 2 fully stocked trucks. This customer was fairly invoiced and the repair was successful. The definition of a hidden fee is additional items added to the invoice after you agreed to it. This in fact did not happen what so ever. You paid exactly what you agreed to in writing. Fox Valley Plumbing will continue to provide up front pricing with no hidden fees to all our customers just like we did for Grace.
