BUT THE BIGGEST CONCERN IS WE R BEING TOLD INFLATION IS 8 TO 10 PERCENT BUT LOOK BEHIND THEIR NEW PRICE TAGS AND SEE THE OLD PRICE ... 60 .. 70 .. And even 80 percent Markups. Look 4 yourselves ... Just look behind the new prices .. Start with the Towels and go to Dog Food. SHAME ON U DOLLAR STORE.

Shame on you Dollar General!! This is a small town community where everyone knows everybody and everything. I am about to spill the gossip and tea. I came into the store June 30th 2022 to do a little shopping. I knew something immediately was off. Our regular gals who are dedicated to the store were not in there today. Instead there was a young man behind the counter literally doing nothing but proping up the counter leaning. The suppliers were there making deliveries and putting all the supplies away themselves. The counter clerk didn't seem too welcoming. I am so used to being spoken to with a friendly hello and can I help you find anything attitude. This wasn't the case. It was like I had to summons the young man from the dead before getting acknowledged that I was in the store. The other ladies always knew where to locate items and in a very helpful way. They were all friendly and worked extremely hard. I got to the counter to check out and the man sounds like he's having a serious conversation about needing help so bad to relieve him from today at work and asking for help with management. I asked were all of the workers went and he says they all quit. Well I would love to applaud the ladies for standing up for what is right. Dollar General cut all their hours back to less than 15 hours per week from what was explained to me. Who in this day and time is going to work for 15 hours and survive? It's almost like they used and abused their employees and when they wanted new management they tried to force these ladies to quit. When you are forced to quit under circumstances rather than being unappreciated and fired then cooperate doesn't have to pay unemployment wages huh? This is a huge mistake on behalf of Dollar General and I couldn't blame good employees for sticking up for good morals and quitting because they were all excellent service providers. The ladies cared about their customers. So welcome to small town USA where small businesses and the community support each other. I have a great feeling that Dollar General won't surpass the same dedicated environment as before. You treat your employees with respect and respect is returned. Wait and see what I am saying.I suggest that everyone else take a couple more minutes to drive to our local businesses and show your support. We have three great local stores that can provide excellent service with a hometown feel in the area and if you take a 5 minute drive up to Clay City the local IGA is family owned and operated as well. I look forward to seeing big cooperate closing it's doors eventually and being replaced with local privately owned businesses moving in. The prior 4 and 5 Star reviews spoke for themselves.
