We were so happy to find Martinez Construction after the hurricane damages to our home. We were very excited to begin work with Oscar and his team, but the excitement did not last long. Our home was completely gutted and he was confident they were up to making our home beautiful. The quality of work done was terrible and most of the work they did complete, had to be fixed or completely redone by others we hired ourselves. Our home stood still with no work done for months after Oscar continued to make promises on completing the job. We paid him over $100,000 for repairs and he walked out on the job and we were told he ran out of money to finish our home. The quality of workers he hired had minimum skills. He tore down our staircase without our permission and did not rebuild them. We found insulation missing from behind sheetrock work that we had to have redone. The siding put on our home was so poorly done he agreed to replace it but never did. I could go on and on about the poor work done by his team. We also found out his license and insurance had lapsed and continued working with neither. There were many months of lapse in work due to no money (after he was paid), poor communication, promises broken again and again. The response below is not completely accurate. The times the subs were sent home was because the work they were doing was not being done properly. Example: Putting up sheet rock without putting in any insulation. And yes there are always two sides. We spoke with the AC guy to finish commissioning our AC unit so we can begin to use it and were told that he was still owed money and he will not complete the work on our AC. We recently turned on the water and found out a pipe was never connected so now our brand new ceiling has water damage. We contacted the plumber Oscar used and he said he was never paid in full and so the job did not get completed. So again like so many other times we have to pay to someone come complete the work we already paid for. And why am I seeing reviews from this year? THIS CONTRACTOR HAS NO LICENSE. Look him up on the Louisiana State Licensing Board. He lost his license back in 2021 or 2022. I am not sure the exact date. NO LICENSE MEANS NO INSURANCE. HE CANNOT LEGALLY OPERATE THIS BUSINESS.
