Way of the Wabanaki Canoe Trip in Summer 2023 was meaningful, inspiring, relaxing, connecting and great in all the best ways. Polly was an effortless guide, and our Penobscot elders, leaders, musicians, historians, herbal medicine practitioners, artists, and more were so knowledgeable, kind, and generous with their time and resources. Being serenaded with magical music, savoring a dinner of fiddleheads and venison, paddling a birch bark canoe, walking in the forest and learning about native plants, sitting at the table and talking about rivers and life- it was a trip to remember. One that will stay with our family. Thank you, thank you.

What an exhilarating experience! The first time I went dogsledding with Mahoosuc, I thought it was going to be a onetime event, but I kept going back at least ten times. Polly and Kevin's dogs are their family, well taken care of, and the retirees live in their house. I fell in love with the dogs. There's nothing quite like gliding over the snow on the sled with the dogs. Mahoosuc provides what I think of as luxury winter camping: they provide the meals, four walled canvas tents with fir bough floors, double mummy sleeping bags with pads beneath, wood stoves going while getting into the bags at night and in the morning while dressing. Spending the evenings in the kitchen tent with others on the trips led to lifelong friendships. Guests can participate in dog care, hookups to the sled, learning the basics, chores at camp. I had no idea beforehand how much I would enjoy winter camping. I could go on and on singing their praises. If I could give 10 stars I would. From what Ive heard, the canoe trips are just as wonderful.
