My family and I worked with Stephen Mercer at the Buyer's Edge to find our new home. We were complete newbies to the house buying process and he made sure to explain all the steps from seeing our first listing to signing the paperwork at closing. It was about as painless as a house search can be. Even now, after we closed, he's still prompt in answering my texts, emails and calls for any questions that come up. Victoria and Marshall made sure they understood our needs and were assiduous and responsive in finding appropriate options for us. Unlike seller's brokers, they will point out flaws and inappropriate features in a property, instead of just pushing selling points. They helped me negotiate a great price, as well as a grant at closing. Both Victoria and Marshall are experienced and knowledgeable about homes, the buying process, and Things to Look Out For. Best of all, I always felt they were on my side and working to protect my interests and needs. Highly recommended!

We had a great experience working with Steve and the team at Buyer's Edge. As newbies to the home-buying process, we were overwhelmed by the variety of factors affecting our decision (condo vs single-family, neighborhood, HOA fees, newer vs fixer-upper). Furthermore, in the competitive and expensive DC-area market, we were concerned about getting a good value for our money and navigating the fast-paced negotiation process. Steve was attentive in walking us through every step of the search, negotiation, and closing process. He was always extremely responsive to our phone calls and text messages, whether our questions were large or small. Once we were under contract, Steve continued to be attentive in getting us to closing -- arranging and helping with the home inspection, and answering the many questions we had during the condo doc review. Finally, we really appreciated the buyer-oriented focus of the Buyer's Edge business model; unlike most agents, Steve works only for buyers. As a result of Steve's negotiating skills, we feel confident that we bought our home at a very competitive and reasonable price.
