        We used it as an entry point for the forest. We couldn't find any paved trail on the west side forest. We couldn't find the creek either. The north side trail is nice. The open field with young trees is a good picnic spot. You can spend the day under a tree.

        So my wife and I went for a walk in the Elk Neck Arboretum area today. What a beautiful area to spend time hiking. We ended up getting on the Mason Dixon trail by accident, but what a nice hike through the woods. Very nice trail.

        I wish some of the paths were more clear when on the path, but I took my 3 year old and it was a nice little walk outside and she loved listening to the birds. Dog-friendliness: No dog specific play areas but I've seen people walking their dogs there. Picnic area: A couple picnic tables in open areas. Nice lunch spot.
