I was a camper here for three years, and it is honestly the best place in the world for me! I've never been anywhere so welcoming and inclusive, where differences are celebrated rather than hidden. It was my first experience at a sleepaway camp, but I don't remember being scared; everyone, campers and counselors alike, are kind and friendly. I'm so lucky to have been able to experience this spectacular place!

Fair warning about my review is that I am biased as I was a junior counselor during the summer of 2023, will be a junior counselor during the summer of 2024, and hopefully come back for more summers to come at this place. Also this is very detailed as I have a lot to share. To parents who want to send their kids to a camp during summer, this place is amazing and works really well. Your children will learn a lot here such as the value of working with others, learning traits of heroes and integrating those traits within themselves, and learning STEAM skills that can be applied to life. A couple of examples of traits the kids learn of heroes and integrate those traits within themselves would be compassionate towards others and behaving in a honorable way towards others. Finally a way that kids learn STEAM skills that can be applied to life is that they make use of science to solve problems that will help them in a task. In the end your child's well-being matters a great deal to us and they will be surrounded by people who are like them and care for them. To people who are looking for a potential job over the summer that works with children, this is the right place for you. Personally I had a lot of fun during the first time I worked here as I was able to dress up as a character and interact with the kids as that character for the majority of summer. Also your coworkers and bosses really care about making sure that you are accommodated while doing your job however you still need to make sure to do it. If you are looking for a job that allows you to build up your resume, this is the job for you as while it might be stressful at times, this is actually a very rewarding job for you and you will definitely feel good while interacting with the kids. In the end I hope that you enjoy your experience here as I certainly did so and that is why I want to come back.

I was a camper for four years (and am now a counselor!) and I cannot recommend this camp enough. It did so much for my self-confidence and self-efficacy with its focus on community and autonomy-based learning. The summers I've been able to spend at this camp have been some of the most enriching and enjoyable times of my life. If you have an opportunity to send your child to this camp, DO IT! It will change their life!

My kids thrived at camp! For one of them, it was their first sleep-away camp. Becoming their characters, using STEAM-centric knowledge to succeed in challenges, having to brainstorm with the other hero campers, and learn from in-game failures was all an incredible and enriching experience.

This camp is phenomenal. Heavily using LARP (Live Action Role Play), it is a magical place for kids to experience friendship, independence, teamwork, STEAM activities, and a healthy dose of outdoor fun, all through the immersive lens of experiential roleplay. It's a special place for kids and staff alike!
