I have shopped at the Salvation Army for over 10 years now. In the last 2 years I have noticed a significant influx in pricing! Absurd prices for used donated clothing. Cloths now have stains, rips, broken zippers, missing buttons and are very very poor quality to be put on the floor for sale. The dressing rooms have not reopened and there is no exchange policy. How does this make sense when all retailers have opened their dressing rooms in Massachusetts? Why are they not open? their response was "because" This is not the Salvation Army we grew up knowing. This is a non profit organization built on helping others. They are not helping the people that help them. We are donators as well as customers, we give in both ways and are treated like the enemy. Their policies need to be adjusted and fare. If there is no tag on a piece of clothing, they charge you $8.99! This is not Target or Walmart. This is appalling and unexpectable. Do better with assessing your (free, donated) merchandise. Reminder: Salvation Army in not a retail store nor a consignment shop. Not all but most employees have become abrasive and power hunger. I help cloth homeless children on the North Shore. the Salvation Army was a frequent stop of mine to do so, they have gone away with sales, frequent buyers rewards, discounts and low prices. I can no longer afford to do that with the outrageous prices they offer. They should be ashamed of what they have become based on who the store supervisor is .Instead of helping communities you have now become one of the capitalist organizations that do the opposite. Shame on you Saugus, Salvation Army!
