Ruoff Mortgage - Sterling Heights

If I could give Ruoff Mortgage 0 stars, I would. I applied for a mortgage in early February. The only time I spoke to the lender on the phone was last Friday (March 22d) after expressing concern over the process via email. The customer service I received from Ruoff was poor. Anytime the lender requested paper work or documents, I submitted them swiftly. If there were documents that needed to be signed, I signed them in haste. Although I was diligent on my end, Ruoff did not hold up their end of the bargain. I made it all the way to underwriting and never spoke to anyone from Ruoff via phone. We exchanged emails but even the emails were minimal. As a first time home buyer, I was not sure what to expect from the process. When I chatted with family and friends about their lending and home buying process, they shared how their lender called and explained things to them regularly and built a rapport with them which builds trust and strengthens the home buying process which is stressful enough. My lender never called during the process. She only called when I lamented via email over the terrible customer service. During the process, I received a denial letter. Teri notified me that this was a mistake. Imagine the emotional rollercoaster I experienced receiving that letter. Things like this should never occur. I was supposed to receive a contract termination letter after terminating my contract on one property and moving on to another. (To date, I've never received the termination letter via mail). After this mistake, I started feeling like the process was not going well. I was unsure of what was occurring and I was not feeling great about moving forward in the process with this company. Ultimately, I walked away. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. It's unfortunate that I had such a negative experience and I was only contacted with apologies after expressing concerns.

I was so scared when I started the process of buying my first house. I was nervous about the cost and the stressful process but they helped ease my mind and worked so hard to stand behind me with every step. By the end I felt as though Monica was a close friend. She and Dennis are Amazing.

I recently refinanced my house with Ruoff Mortgage. Dennis Bobby and his staff were extremely helpful along the way and made the process very easy. They always answered my calls and all questions I had. Their online system allowed me to track the progress of my mortgage process so I knew exactly where things were. It was also easy to upload all needed documentation and complete e-signing of them. I would recommend Dennis and his team to everyone who is looking for a loan.
