Normally, I don't like leaving bad reviews, but since I read the latest 1-star review and my experience was almost identical, I figured I'd add my two cents. The main purpose of this review is to hopefully prevent this from happening to the next potential client of Benson Tax. If there was an option to leave zero stars, that would've been my preference! I contacted Peggy back in early March 2018 and provided her my business books as well as my tax documents. I didn't hear anything from her other than replies to my emails asking when my books/taxes would be done. About 5 months went by and Peggy responded with August 15th as a completion deadline. Well, the 15th came and went with no word from her, so I contacted her on August 28th asking what the heck is going on. All I got is "I've been so busy". I told her to get my file together and I'd be in today to pick it up. I stopped in today, and she didn't even seem the least bit remorseful for sitting on my books and taxes for nearly 6 months. Not even an apology in person for not even starting on my books/taxes or an explanation as to why she never even started working on them. Cunning and baffling! I'm just shocked that any business owner would leave a client in limbo for as long as she did. I'm not even sure how she gets away with it. If she didn't want to do my books and taxes, she should've told me right off the bat rather than stalling it almost 6 months and not doing anything whatsoever. I'm disgusted and appalled by the whole experience. I just hope this serves as a warning to anyone considering doing business with this firm.

Peggy held our financial information for several months, promised to deliver it by a certain date and then went away on vacation without delivering our taxes or even bothering to contact us about it. She is also very unreliable when it comes to returning requests for information (e.g. voicemail, email). I would not in good conscience recommend her to anyone.

Peggy is the most professional CPA that I have ever worked with. She is a great person, too! I enjoy working with her.
