My family loved this place. It is kid friendly. Free self guided tours top side. Paid mine tours are definitely worth it. Pro tip: look for the wood bridge path at the end of the parking lot(opposite from the museum) for a peek at what pre minshaft mining looks like.

The underground mine is still closed as of 10-18-23. But it sounds like it should hopefully be open next year.

The underground tour is not available until 2024. But we spoke to a gentleman who informed us about the mine and the underground lab. Very interesting!

Fantastic experience! Carl, our guide, provided us with a very personal and knowledgable tour of the grounds. (underground tour is closed in 2023). Carl has a personal touch on why our ancestors broke their backs to put us in a better opportunity today. Alot of the structure and machinery in tack. Got to see the machinery room operate while raising/lowering the elevator. Hard to believe all the hard work that went into mining in the past and still today. Thank you Carl.
