My husband and I have been members at the peak on and off for the last 10+ years. We have always paid our gym fees upfront. However, we decided to take five months off after buying a house. When I called to initiate a membership again they told me that both of us were still members at the peak and we owe them money. We had never gotten any bills in the mail, phone calls, etc. stating that we were still members or owed them any money. Im still wondering when they would have told us about our bill had I not initiated a conversation with them. Looking at other reviews, I can see that this is a common occurrence and seems like a great way to scam people out of money. After talking to membership staff, they could see that we had not used their facility for 5 months yet still wanted us to pay the bill. I would highly recommend that people think twice before joining the peak! My husband and I will never again be members at the peak. In result of this incident, our family members have also cancelled their memberships.
