They discrimated against me and try to redline me to where they saw fit. Didn't tell me I was approved. Attempted to get me to move into a dump in the ghetto that I didn't even inquire about. Attempted to tell me what I can afford even after receiving income verification. I've asked them numerous times to show me their math from both Heidi and Tara and they refused. It honestly would of been the same with the utilities but, again they refused to compare. Approval is approval.

I adore my apartment building and neighborhood! My maintenance person is extremely friendly and good at the job! The leasing staff is extremely helpful and nice any time I interact with them. This is by far the best property management I've had in all my years of renting.

My son has been renting from Thrive Street Living located at 3122 S 69th Ave #3 for the last year. During this time, he had no air conditioning from 13 Apr May 4, June 1- 20 and Aug 8 to Sep 14. At one point in Aug, it was over 100 degrees and he could not stay in the unit. They provided a mobile unit that did not work and leaked water all over the carpet. He asked for $300 compensation for no air conditioning and to cover the cost of alternative arrangements. They refused. Their stance is that their only responsibility was to call the repair man. The fact that they had to call them several times or that there was no air conditioning during the above dates does not concern them. I only got involved because I have been a landlord for the past 15 years and have experience with rental properties. There technically is no legal recourse for my son because air conditioning is not considered a necessity but most rental companies & landlords acknowledge a moral and ethical responsibility to provide services to tenants that were promised. Not them! I went to talk to them and they refused to let me talk to the owner of the company, John Campbell. What owner of a company would refuse to talk to a customer? My guess is that he is embarrassed by his own behavior and the business model of this company appears to be to take advantage of tenants with no recourse. They obviously do not care about the well being of their customers and do not want to accept responsibility for failures on their part. They also charged my son a carpet cleaning fee of $175 even though the cleaning fee is stated in the lease they did not clean the carpets after the mobile air conditioner leaked and he had a big water stain for the last 4 months of his lease. Any ethical landlord would have absorbed this cost. $160 cleaning fee was also charged. The apartment had been vacuumed, appliances cleaned (oven never used) counter tops and mirrors cleaned. $25 fee for blinds. Cheap blinds were in the shower and should have been considered normal wear and tear and be expected. Thrive Street Living is charging the client to prepare the apartment for the next renter. They stated no 30 day notice was given. Not only was a 30 day notice given but the key was returned 30 days early because he was moving out of the state. We are currently withholding the $753 they think we owe them until this is resolved. We have not received a response from them since my son told them he was going to post their previous response. I would not recommend renting from this company. Any company whose owner refuses to talk to customers I would consider shady and they obviously feel no obligation to provide basic services or compensation to their customers. It is this type of landlord that gives us all a bad reputation. We are not all bad! read less
