AVOID AT ALL COSTS Claude will promise you the moon and back but once they start work it's downhill from there. They will not be clear about when they are coming, make you call the day of to know even what time of day (morning/afternoon) they are coming, and then come late and cancel on your REPEATEDLY. They will also frequently tell you they told you one day and not the day they actually told you. They also might show up unannounced on a day you said doesnt work for you. I had top notch tear down and rebuild my chimney and remove an old wood burning stove and install a new stove I bought. Claude said this stove installation would be no problem, but turns out the owner (Mike) told me they only do this 1-2 times a year so they have to special order the pipe. They were at my house like 5 times before they placed the order for the pipe even though the new stove was available for them to measure and look at at any point. Pipe took weeks to come in and then even more weeks to schedule as they kept canceling on me. Took 5 rescheduling's to finally get the pipe install finished. For the chimney the teardown and rebuild the guys are notably sloppy. Claude and the owner will put on a good show saying don't get paint on this or else but then the guys make a mess anyway. They broke our hose quick connected and then covered it up and tried to fix it with caulk and got caulk all over our hose. They didn't acknowledge any of this until I pointed it out (I watched them do it) and then promised a new quick connect and never followed up. I also had to keep pointing out little things like gaps in the soffit that they made from removing the old chimney and in the mortar of the lowest bricks for them to patch. I felt like I had to remind them a lot of pieces of the job (the workers kept trying to tell me they weren't installing the wood stove when it was in my contract). Not to mention I asked multiple times about them disposing of the old metal wood stove and was told originally they could take it for me but then later they said they couldn't or "had to check". I ended up having to get it removed myself since it was sitting in my backyard for WEEKS. I even had to call and remind them to submit the permit to the township since they hadn't done the application 2 months after the job was "completed". Overall what should've taken just a few days actually didn't get completed for almost 2 months. I had an open pipe in my basement leading to the outside for weeks until they finally came back to do the piping. The hassle of dealing with their scheduling and staff is not an experience I would ever want again, especially for the size of the job and amount I paid- I expected a much better experience. 5 months after the job started we finally got a building/fire inspection which failed epically. I was told we would've burned our house down if we had used the stove as installed. top notch took forever to come out and fix it but still never addressed the distance to combustibles in the basement. After them not showing up and then showing up unannounced they stopped trying to come fix the issue and almost a year later I still couldnt use my stove. They failed fire inspection a 2nd time and we had to threaten legal action and get inspections and estimates from other companies for over 7k in repairs to bring their work "up to code" before he refunded us the amount we needed to get it fixed. The owner yelled at us on the phone even though HIS TEAM failed inspection twice. He refused to believe his team messed up inspite of the failed inspections and the camera inspection from another company showing cracks and missing mortar in an installation that was barely a year old and never used. Absolutely awful experience..never again
