Sonesta ES Suites Somerset

The worst hotel experience I ever had. Avoid this place at all costs. I needed a place to stay while in Jersey with my family. When we got there the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We felt welcomed. Unfortunately that was going to be the only nice thing I can say. After we were given a room as soon as i open the door the cigarette and mold smell hit me. I was shocked to see how moldy the couch in the suite was. My kids were very disappointed because they were looking forward to have a good time for the weekend. Our stuffs smell like mold we had to wash and disinfect everything when we got home

This place has some kind of motel vibe. The toilet seat was so used or old tgat it had dark spots that looked dirty, then I noticed it was stained, yes really. And someone NEEDS to wash those rugs not just spray it with rug talc and vacuum.

I stayed at Sonesta for 5 days with my dog. I stayed in a suite that had a living room and kitchen with a little stove. It reminded me of a little studio apartment. The only small issues I had were no housekeeping ever showed up, the heat sometimes felt like it was blowing cold air and it would shut off way too fast. The TV in the bedroom didnt properly work. All the channels didnt work. The couch cushions were kinda ripped to shreds and the couch cover had a slight smell of cigarettes. But, I can say that the king size bed was comfy. My dog can certainly testify on that one :) Free breakfast was decent. Front desk was helpful. Jeremy and Carmen were friendly when I was checking in. Jermey helped with my luggage. When I entered my suite, it didnt have pots and pans or dishwasher detergent. Jeremy left and came back with the stuff I needed right away :) My room was overall clean. The shower was clean and the fridge was clean and I had clean sheets. Overall I didnt have the worst experience.
