Beautiful area.... Very green for New Mexico and on weekdays pretty quiet. It's a nice ride to cross the bridge, very scenic but the first miles are rough... But if you continue straight it will take you right next to the Gorge Bridge...

We spent a night at the Rio Pueblo Primitive Campground at the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monuments Orilla Verde Recreation Area. We werent expecting to have to find a spot at the end of the road but all of the other campgrounds were full. Fortunately our van has high clearance because the only campsite left in the campground had rocks protruding out of the ground. It turned out to be a great campsite: very isolated from road traffic and within a short walk to the Rio Pueblo (which is more like a stream).

Wow, incredibly beautiful. It's also incredibly popular on a Sunday in May, but understandably so. Get there early..
