Avis Car Rental

Rude and lazy employees at the Santa Fe airport Avis. Left before our flight came in leaving us stranded. Had to wait until the next day and the woman was so rude and lazy. Absolutely no customer service. She also tried overcharging us $300. I would not recommend Avis at Santa Fe airport.

Worst return experience ever. There is almost no signage. And none visible at early morning since the signs are not lit. I had to park and go in the terminal and ask airport employees where I could park and return the keys. Then I had to drive away from the airport toward a public lot where all the Avis spaces were full and parked elsewhere and hoped for the best. Then a dangerous long walk back to the terminal on a poorly lit patch of dirt along the road. Added a lot of stress to catching a flight. Would avoid this Avis location and airport if you can.

I felt like either I was on candid camera or had stepped back in time. This was so weird and I felt bad for the nice lady working for Avis as they have clearly set her up to fail. There is no heat or ceiling tiles in the airport btw. There is basically no signage, they still print with a dot matrix printer, to get to your car you walk along a long dark gravel path next to the road to an unlit parking lot with no signs anywhere. I wasn't told which car I was given, just to "hit the panic" button to find it. Well the panic button didn't work, but thankfully the unlock button made the lights go on. I had no idea where or how to return it, there was no inspection so I took pictures so they couldn't charge me for someone else's carelessness. Next time, i will not rent from this place and would highly recommend Avis invests some money or take their name off the sign.

After eviscerating them on their web site survey as requested by email, they were dumb enough to ask me if I wanted to post that review the social media. Sure I'll be happy to. Here goes the... first car you tried to give me had tape literally holding the light assembly on the car. When I objected you made me stand there for 12 minutes while the representative went and walked out to verify that I was telling the truth. The second car you gave me had brake issues so bad I was forced to drive an hour each way to Albuquerque swap the car out. Because this location is not staffed when I went to return the car you couldn't just leave the keys in the car like a normal place so I mistakenly put them in my pocket and walked on the plane forgetting to go find the special mini drop box located at the other end of the ternim, taking them on the plane with me and got charged for an extra day. I would not rent from these people if they were the last car company on the face of the Earth. I've never had these issues with any other rental company and I rent about 100 days a year.

Say No to Budget Car Rental! By far the most unprofessional car rental experience I have ever had. No one was available upon our arrival at 1:00 pm on 1/21. The gate was closed & just a sign reading we are away cleaning cars. Also note Avis & Budget are run together. The neighboring car rental store had to inform us there was in fact people working & they would return. About 15 minutes later someone returned. I asked if my card would be charged again. She said no. I was charged a $250 deposit. I understand this is normal- but this is what I was asking. We requested an 4WD or AWD. Again I asked if our vehicle was 4WD and she said yes! It was not. It was a FWD. It is actually dangerous to let people who are driving in the mountains believe they are in an AWD or FWD vehicle when they are not. Lastly, and the whole reason I am writing such a poor review- the valet service. This was by far the rudest man I have ever encountered and n a service position. After waiting 15 minutes for the van I was told would be driving us to the lot, I went back in to find 3 employees standing inside. I asked for the valet. He begrudgingly grabbed the van keys. Did not say a word to us the entire time or help at all with the bags. Just popped the trunk & sat in the car. We were going to tip and he was actually so rude we couldnt bring ourselves to do it & put the money back in our wallets. Not a welcoming way to start a trip. If I owned this Budget Rental I would be completely embarrassed. I recommend you go undercover to see how your staff treats your customers.
