2 West Saratoga Apartments

We lived at 2 West for a little over 2 years and paid a fee to have our cats in the apartment. The location was ok - if you dont mind a parking lot being your view - best part about the location is being close to SPAC. Its a noisy area with a lot of traffic. The apartment itself was ok but cheaply made - especially the bathroom where the toilet paper holder and faucets were always breaking. Same with the cheap plastic blinds. When we moved in the poorly designed balcony was covered in bird poop - they tired to clean it when we asked but it was never clean. Then, to add insult to injury, our security deposit was not returned ($500) because we were made to pay $400 to replace the bedroom carpet that only showed normal wear and tear. I dont believe it is even legal to charge tenants for replacing carpets. The biggest issue was the garbage situation - disgusting the whole time we lived there with a very smelly garbage room and an overflowing bin in the parking lot (the restaurant also used it). The last few months we were there they started a valet garbage service which meant that they closed the garbage rooms on each floor - gave everyone small black plastic garbage bin that you had to keep in your apartment until the 2 hour pick up window - only on Sunday to Thursday - so you either had to keep a lot of garbage in your apartment or take it to the overflowing - disgusting and unsafe garbage bins in the parking lot. Meanwhile - there were always heavily scented glade plug-ins in the hallways that were headache inducing. It was nice to have the option to extend the lease on a month to month basis but the it came with a very increase in rent. While we loved living in Saratoga - it would have been better in a nicer place - which we could have found based on the high rent we paid and the refusal to return the security deposit.

Great property! Apartments are modern and well maintained. Internet and Cable included with rent. The management company Burns Management is very responsive when there are maintenance issues and are good about not disturbing residents unless absolutely necessary (such as fire inspections). The amenities are great and include a gym, rooftop terrace, office/workspace, and an amazon locker. Would recommend.

Strongly recommend not to move in to these apartments. I have had apartments for over 18 years, and have rarely encountered any issues. Upon move in, there has been now for 2 weeks a horrible horrible chemical smell permeating the entire apartment. I had to get a hotel for 5 days due to the fumes. Additionally I have been forced to sleep inside my closet due to the smell from the chemicals and due to the noise from the street (the noise I do not blame the complex for as it is because we are on a busy street). Lastly, the customer service from the girl who works in the office could be described as extremely disrespectful and condescending. When I brought the problems to her, she refused to even make eye contact and tried to brush me off. The first minute or so she was basically giving me one word answers and she kept typing on her computer and refused to even look at me. I was shocked. She was extremely rude and told me she had other things to do. I have never had a front office at a complex act this rude and disinterested in at least trying to resolve the issue. I spoke to numerous tenants who have also had this issue with the chemical smell and loud noise. I am shocked that the frost desk girl wouldn't even make eye contact or acknowledge my issue as serious when I explained the problem to her. All in all, I was appalled at how rude, condescending, unprofessional and quite frankly - unqualified the customer service here is. --Do not move here --
