Ken and Ryan did a great job on our addition. We enclosed our carport and turned it into livable space. Everything was top notch work from the vaulted ceiling to the beautiful custom built-ins. The quote ended up being very accurate. The work was done quickly and all the subs were courteous. Ken and Ryan were both quick to respond to any questions or issues. Ken Neuhoff, Ryan Beverly and the entire talented Neuhoff team were so amazing to work with. They did a major renovation and addition for us, opening up walls downstairs, completely redoing the kitchen, and adding a full second story with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a laundry room. They finished the project in 6 months and were on top of every detail from start to finish. Ken made getting the project started easy, by helping us finalize our scope of work and figuring out what would fit within our budget. He answered all of our questions and was very quick to respond or make himself available for a call. Throughout the entire project, he was open, honest and provided us with numbers and details along the way. Ryan was our project manager, and he was so wonderful to work with. He worked so hard every day to make sure the project moved quickly and was on schedule. He included us and asked questions when needed to ensure everything was how we wanted it, but also got things done without us having to be involved at all times. It was amazing how quickly and efficiently the team worked! He was always one step ahead. I would 100% recommend working with Neuhoff Builders. They are transparent, communicative, helpful and have tons of experience and expertise. They will make your project run smoothly and youll have peace of mind working with people you can trust. We have worked with Ken Neuhoff for +/-10 yrs on various projects at home. Our home was built in 1954 & partially renovated by Others on speculation in 2007. We moved into our home in 2009. Since then, Ken has gradually done important projects throughout the house, including a major basement & major kitchen & bath renovation. We never had to be out of the house for more than 6 wks. & sometimes not all. Smaller projects were a new roof, Ipe fencing, replacement window, leak solutions, int. & ext. painting, a bluestone patio plus seat walls, storm damage emergency repairs, & more. The Neuhoff subs are EXCELLENT. With properly installed grab bars, step-free access, & more Ken has made aging-in-place possible. We have a few small projects left to go & then our forever home will be much better than new. Ken is flexible & works well with others for specialty requests. His billing is detailed & accurate. We trust Ken & his subs are like family. We highly recommend Neuhoff. We are absolutely thrilled with the end result of our kitchen addition project with Neuhoff Custom Builders - they took a dated and cramped early 2000's kitchen, and transformed it into a timeless and spacious area that we'll enjoy for years to come. We worked closely with Ken in the early stages to scope and discuss the project, and once kicked off, we were incredibly lucky to work with Ryan Beverly as our day-to-day project manager/general contractor. The quality of the finished project was outstanding, and the craftsmen who were on-site day to day were lovely, incredibly skilled, and very detail oriented. The project ran smoothly and we completed the project earlier than initially projected - a rare feat in an industry plagued by delays and unexpected surprises. Ryan was on top of keeping subs rolling through every week, and was on site almost every day to ensure his teams were getting what needed to be done, done. We had some unexpected cost shifts due more to the nature of construction while building during the post-COVID building boom, but we found Ken to be incredibly reasonable in working with us to make adjustments where necessary, and we always felt like the explanations for those increases were reasonable and logical given the current environment. To Ken's credit, trying to estimate in the current environment is incredibly difficult with costs rising across the board, and labor shortages hitting the Raleigh-Durham area as it grows quickly. In short: We absolutely recommend this team without reservation, and we plan on tackling some other projects down the line with them in the future.
