Blake Rose Salon + Spa

I have been coming here to get my hair cut and highlighted on and off for several years. I have never canceled an appointment without sufficient notice. I tested positive for Covid recently. I couldnt call until that same day (I didnt have symptoms, I tested because I was exposed and didnt want to come in to spread it). When I called, as soon as they opened I was told that I would be charged the full amount of my appointment. I tried to explain I was a good customer and was doing it for their benefit but they didnt care. When I asked how much I would be charged I was told about an extra charge for a treatment I hadnt asked for. It was difficult to get them to take that extra charge off. I understand its lost income for the salon, maybe half would be fair. It gets me that I went out to get tested even though I had no symptoms. I guess I should have just gone in and not tested for their benefit

On the morning of Feb 8, 2022, this truck literally forced another car off the road and into a snow bank as it sped down Norton Avenue from 3rd in Grandview. They didn't even stop. Any business that would act with such willful disregard for the safety of other people is not the kind of place that should be supported in our community. I am not the kind of person that goes around trashing businesses on the internet, but this was truly unbelievable. It was lucky no one was seriously injured or killed in a head on collision.

Since day one, I've always felt at home at Blake Rose. The staff is so nice and helpful. My first time in (over a year ago), I knew I wanted to chop off most of my hair (I'm a female who has always had long hair), but I was still uncertain how it would look. With how nervous I was, I figured I might as well pay for the owner to help me. What a great decision that was. Bryan was completely honest with me on what he thought would and wouldn't look good, which I greatly appreciated. When you're making a significant change, you want complete honesty. Additionally, he took his time to make sure I liked everything. This is amazing as I'm sure he has many things he could be doing. I have gone back almost every month since. I fell in love with the cut he gave me and the experience and kindness from all employees. I will continue to see Bryan every single time. He's one of my favorite people.
