My stay at Meadows of Scioto was beautiful and I loved every minute of it. I wouldn't break my back to come back, but if I could give 10 stars I would.

It's a good facility. They take good care of me and I love the nurses.

My Mother was placed at this facility for a couple reasons, one she was on Dialysis and this was the only facility that provided it onsite. The second reason was because it was the closet to me and the reviews I read were good. All I had to go on were the reviews because of COVID I was unable to tour the facility. I know they had virtual tours but that is not the same. She was discharged from the Hospital a day before she was supposed to be and sent to Meadows. Once she arrived there it was ok to start. What I found was this facility was very unorganized. It was hard to get through to anyone on the phone, no one knew how to probably transfer and that was when they answered the phone. Sometimes I had to call 2-3 times just to get someone on the phone. The communication was very poor, I never once spoke with a Doctor, NP or a Nurse without me having to call in. By the way I requested these calls. There was never a proper team meeting, and when there was upon me asking several times for one there was an excuse as to why no one was on the call except for the Nursing Director Tammy. She had no information of use, could not answer my questions correctly, and was not able to go over my Mother's care plan because she did not know it. My Mother was verbally abused by staff being told " now don't fall, I can't catch no big girl" to "I need you to roll and help me out, I weigh 88pds and need your help to move". Who says that to their patient? Who and why would your staff make a patient feel so bad because of their weight? My Mother was also dropped, now it was onto her bed from the HOYYA lift but she said it was enough to feel the thump onto the bed. I have operated one and you can and are supposed to gently take your patient down to the bed before releasing the clips. I was told things would get handled, they never did, I was told I would get calls back, they never happened, I was told my Mother would be taken care of, she was not. My Mother told me of some appointments that she had outside of the facility, when I called in to confirm she had three which I was never informed of. I will never recommend this facility to anyone ever.

It's a clean facility. I just wish my room was just a little bit bigger.
