0 stars! Please read reviews before signing up! I was in part time day and the assignments dont match up to midterm. They use an old book that does not match. I dropped class first day of lab when the instructor kept forgetting skills when teaching. Also everything in lab is broken and you have to provide your own supplies. I was already annoyed of the work they cram on you that isnt on the test. Now Im waiting on my refund as I am intilted to and all they say is we will call you when we calculate it. They have time to take your call to receive money but literally told me they are too busy to calculate refund! Shady people!! Dont waste your money or time!

I would give zero stars if I could. I selected their part time weekend class to continue working full time and work on my nursing degree. I have a tight deadline (need to have my full application for clinicals finished by early may). I was SUPPOSED to start my class TOMORROW. They called me this afternoon to tell me they cancelled the class completely because to many people withdrew. THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT RELIABLE! They completely ruined my school timeline and now I have to wait a whole year to apply.

I do not usually leave reviews. However, I wanted to share my experience since others may be nervous to sign up (like I was) based on the reviews. First and foremost: I passed the STNA classes on 1/26 and ALIA uploaded my certificate to TMU (the website where you buy the state test/take state test) on 1/29. You will also receive an email with your certificate (received 2/6) HOWEVER, ALIA uploading the certificate to the TMU website means you will be able to register for the state test as soon as TMU/state has it processed on their end (took maybe a day or two). I had access to register for the state test around 1/31 ish, I took my test on 2/8, got my results 2/8, and got my license number 2/9. The physical copy of the license was in my hand 2/18. Pretty quick turnaround in my opinion. Extra details based on other reviews: The book not matching the lectures: The book pages do not match the pages listed in the lecture. HOWEVER, I would not say the lectures are outdated. Literally just read the title of the sections of the module, and it matches the chapter in the book you need to read for the module. Just do it that way instead of listening to the numbers from the lectures (the pages were usually only off by a couple pages anyways). Reviews about scamming: I passed and just paid the fee it states on ALIA. I did not have to redo anything. You need an 80% to pass, and I scored like a 95% overall. If you show up on time, read the sections listed in the module, and do not do only the bare minimum on the discussion posts, you will be fine. I always did more than 10 sentences, more than 2 sources, and always completed my thoughts (dont rely on being graded for what you implied, you need to actually say it). I did well on the discussion posts because of this. I highly suggest you do this too. Yes it takes more time, but it should guarantee you don't need to retake the classes. Apply yourself and you will pass. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at ALIA and would suggest anyone wanting to do the blending learning style to try it out.

What I liked best was instructor Jayne Lee. She was wonderful. She worked at Alia but left before our clinical. So, when we went, we were supposed to see our lab instructor there but we instead had a different instructor, and it was her first time doing anything, so she was just as confused as we were and from my understanding, was kind of just thrown in without much direction or guidance. Other than our caring instructor, Jayne Lee, everything about this course was awful. They would constantly move around class times, due dates, etc. Online assignments (mostly discussion boards) are graded on an opinion-base although the discussion itself asks for specific facts, evidence from our textbook, and fact-based research from online sources. There is a rubric for each discussion board and the woman who grades it takes off points for not including extra information that she would like for us to have included, but these things were never mentioned anywhere in the rubric or question. Director Abed was unprofessional, as the first day at orientation he tries to scare the students by saying if we are one minute late, we are kicked out of the program so "don't even bother making the rest of your drive there" if you're going to be late. On our first lab, our instructor was more than 10 minutes late because Abed told her to arrive 15 minutes after we were told to arrive. Also, when we took our final exam, Abed was supposed to be there but he was one minute late (which I would never care about if they were chill) but I felt if you're going to make it sound all intense and say there is absolutely no good excuse for being late then maybe follow your own rules. The orientation was four hours long and the director was just beating a dead horse repeating himself over and over again while talking to the students like children. There was a student with a language barrier and Abed would get very clearly annoyed with her in any interaction and disrespectfully raise his voice when speaking to her when that was awfully unnecessary. During the "wrap up" meeting, I found it unprofessional and I felt quite uncomfortable as director Abeds shirt was unbuttoned very low. We. Do. Not. Want. To. See. Your. Chest. Hair. This was a major scam because my friend in the program didn't turn in a quiz on time because it was the very first week and they decided to move orientation and with that, move due dates to be more confusing. Originally, they said both Modules 1 and 2 were due Friday at 8am, then they changed it to Module 1 due Thursday at 8am and Module 2 due Friday at 8am, but my peer thought that they were both still due Friday. So, on Friday morning, the student gets a wake up call from Abed saying she's kicked from the Canvas course, and that there isn't any other way to get back into the STNA program except for if she paid him an extra $100 right NOW for a "reinstatement fee". All he had to do to "reinstate" her was click a button on Canvas and she was back into the class. The assignment times were only told by mouth and so they weren't even correct on Canvas, so this didn't make any sense. There are other peers in my class who never turned in a quiz and had no repercussions--their grade just went in as 0. Next, the supplies and their quality were awful because they were missing tons of supplies, beds didn't go up and down, and PPE gowns were trapped in a plastic tub and smelled rank when we had to practice putting them on. There were manikin parts for perineal care and the female anatomy looked as if it had been chewed up (possibly by rats or something...?). During our last lab, the lab and lecture room were 85 degrees Fahrenheit as read on the thermostat and we had to take breaks to drink water and cool down. Not to mention was is February in Ohio (meaning snow type weather?). I would highly NOT recommend Alia to anyone because the people (mostly director/owner Abed) couldn't care less about the students' successhe just wants as much money as he can squeeze out of his students. RUN if you hear someone utter the name Alia Healthcare.
