I want to tell you a story about Bill Hannigan going back many years. I had inherited stocks from my grandmother, and with five children, we needed the money, so we cashed them in. We went to a well-known Tax Prep company in Columbus, Oh, and had that year's taxes prepared. Instead of getting the refund shown on the return, we got a letter from the IRS saying we owed almost $13k. At work the next day, I was furious, telling my coworkers about the problem. That's when a coworker took me aside and said you need Bill. He told me Bill was a senior consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers consulting for S&P 100 corporations, but he regularly helps people with tax issues. I scheduled a meeting with Bill, and he immediately put me at ease. Looking at the material for only a few minutes, he told me not to worry and that he would fix it. He explained that whoever did the return was unaware of computing tax basis for inherited assets. He fixed everything for a reasonable fee, and we got an excellent refund. I told him he was MVP for the year, and he just smiled. I was ecstatic when he opened USA Tax & Accounting Services in 2018, and I am writing to give them the TEN STARS they deserve.
