Three Oaks Counseling & Psychiatry

I can't express how helpful the team at Three Oaks has been. I use the VA for medical care and if you understand how slow the government is to do anything you would be shocked at how quickly they got my issue with insurance/Triwest sorted out. They were constantly keeping me up to date with the progress and what was slowing things down. They made phone calls on my behalf in order to speed the process up. My therapist, Monica, has been a huge help in dealing with the issues I have been struggling with for a long time. I suffer from depression and anxiety, among other things. She has helped me process some deep seated feeling, made me realize that things aren't as bad as they seem. She has helped me open up with my wife, which in turn has made my marriage even stronger than before. I can honestly say seeking therapy here has been one of the best decisions for my well-being I have ever made.

I am very lucky to have been paired up with Monica as my first therapist ever! Before beginning therapy I had heard horror stories from friends about having experiences with bad therapists and with my anxiety and lack of knowledge I didn't know if I would be able to discern what a bad therapist looked like exactly. Then I had my first session with her and right off the bat it was like I was talking to a knowledgeable friend who made me feel heard and understood even though I lacked the emotional intelligence to divulge the inner workings of my broken brain. Monica has provided me with tools and processes to put into place to help me approach difficult situations I would have avoided or let build in the past. She has helped me establish a routine and when dealing with matters outside of her area of expertise she has done everything she can to help me. I am very grateful for her help in rewiring my brain and all she has helped me to accomplish. The world would be a better place if we all had a Monica.

The patient coordinator strung me along for about a week and then stopped responding to emails about getting on the schedule with a provider. Unfortunate for the counselors that rely on her to promote their practice.
