The Faust Hotel

The Faust is a quaint hotel, dating back to 1929. It's like you stepped back in time, with the architecure and decor. The lobby area harkens back to the 1920s & 30s. Parking is in the back down a rather narrow access, but you can also access the lot from S Castell Ave. Check-in process includes instruction about your single key, so we recommend you leave it with the front desk when going out. Our room was rather small, but the bed was comfortable. The small but adequate bathroom required a step up. We stayed one night in October, and we slept well. The location is great. We walked to Krause's for an event. Unfortunately the hotel's restaurant and bar were closed, but they had tables in the outdoor frontyard with live music. The place was hopping. I would make inquiries if you need bigger accommodations, but I can see a nice, romantic night as The Faust.

A great location...just across the street from Krause's Cafe. Easy walk to downtown and Landa Park. Lovely remodeled front patio...just hope they leave the old character in the rooms. Rooms: Still look very much like the railroad hotel it once was...love the antiques as well. Walkability: Walkable to Landa Park and across the street from Krause's Cafe in the back and Naegelin's bakery in the front exit.

We have had a great trip planned to New Braunfels for months for the Christmas atmosphere in New Braunfels and Gruene. I just received an email telling me they are closing for renovations and my reservation is cancelled. Two and a half
