I'm going with a 4 star. My only real complaint is the sandy camp sites. Normally, when we stay, the sand is manageable. This week with all the rain, not so much. It is off grid camping, which we don't mind we do it every year. Camper batteries tend to have an issue by the end of the week, with only having 2 two hour blocks of run time on the generator. All in all not a bad camping area.

Restrooms: Restrooms pretty clean, coin op showers. No picnic area as such, but a small pavillion available for group reservations. SUGGESTION:Shower water too hot! Scalding to children. I worked in healthcare and know what hot water is. If you cant regulate temp, then install a mixer valve. You may find you save the state money on heating water! Dog-friendliness: On leash, but everyone there loves dogs...most guests had them.

If you need peace and quiet, do not go there. The staff is pretty understanding which is great, but as far as a retreat in Groton goes, that's a no.

Not a very big lake area but still nice. Staff are friendly and bathrooms were kept very clean.

This campground was fantastic! Tucked away in a beautiful part of Vermont, the campground is right on Groton Lake with a swimming area and designated boat launch. There's also an access path to the Montpelier & Wells River Rail Trail. The campsites are really nice with tent sites and leanto options. The overall facility was really well kept. What stood out the most at this campground was the staff! I was having car issues and the staff was extremely helpful in helping me fix the problem! They kept checking in and asking if I needed anything, helped me research solutions, and even on their own time tried to tinker with my car to figure it out. It was above and beyond expectations! I really enjoyed my stay here and will make a point to come back.
