Doesnt sell Liquor according to common world of VA laws. They only sell wine and spirits and ABC which rumors has it as controlled by VA state legislature sells liquors

I have used this total wine a few times because they tend to have a better selection than the total wine closer to me. However, I recently had an order I placed in January (yes, it's been a while) picked up by someone else. Long story short: I tried to pick it up once but left my ID at home and haven't made it back yet. I anticipated the order would get canceled. Much to my surprise, two days ago I got notice that the order was picked up, but not by me. I didn't designate any alternative pick up people either. I contacted corporate customer support who offered me a refund. They then came back a day later and said they couldn't offer a refund because the order was picked up. They said I could dispute it with my credit card. The credit card company said it would be useless because the company would just say it was picked up (which they already had said). Ironically, the reason I couldn't pick the order up the time I made it in was because they carded me. I'm curious how someone else was able to pick it up if they got carded as well. Perhaps the store doesn't check names, only DOBs, but that's not much of a control for store pick up. Bottom line: Be wary of using store pick up at this total wine location. The order could easily get stolen and you'd be left without any meaningful recourse. I'm only out 10 dollars for now (thanks to my birthday coupon!), but couldn't imagine if I had placed a larger order. Won't be coming back to this Total Wine for store pick up despite it's superior selection. They still get two stars for several good orders in the past and good selection, even if I lost money on this stolen order.
