The only reason I didn't rate it as a 5 is that the breakfast bar was empty. I was there well before it ended. I felt so sorry for folks who arrived after me.

Location wise this is a good pick. Its not far from VT and a little away from the busy parts. But there are plenty of other options too. I stayed the night here to visit my step son at Virginia Tech. It had some good reviews and looked appealing online. I loved that it had breakfast too. But the stay was a bit disappointing. Upon check in the gentleman working wasnt the kindest, I asked to please check in and gave my ID as requested. He checked me in and just handed me the key cards and that was that. He didnt tell me the room number, where the elevator was, nothing about what time breakfast is. Luckily I have stayed at a lot of hotels and know its written on the key card holder and can assume its on floor 2 for a room number starting in 2. I had to ask what time breakfast was. I went browsing the grounds to find out where the gym was and the pool. It just really was different than other places. No smiles, nothing helpful. Breakfast was ok the oatmeal packets offered one type which was plain/original and nothing to make it better. Most places have some brown sugar packets, some slivered almonds or even little travel containers of peanut butter. Or at least a different flavor of the oatmeal if you arent going to offer that. No plant milk option for lactose intolerant people. The room was fine nothing special. Our shower literally sprayed water everywhere and leaked out the sides no matter how we tried to push the curtain to the ends and got all over the floor. My husband tightened the toilet seat because it was about to fall off and the pull out bed is a joke. My step son just slept on the couch he said was much better than the pull out bed. Positive note, the bald gentleman (sorry I didnt get your name sir)working the breakfast on 2/18/24 was so incredibly nice and checked on everyone, asked if they needed anything and was doing a good job keeping things stocked. He was a breath of fresh air compared to the gloom of everyone else who worked there. I gave the three starts just for him.
