I have been going to Becky at Evergreen Cottage for over 15 years. I love the Aveda products and Becky has been wonderful taking my long hair to short, helping grow out my short hair to long-always with suggestions to make my difficult hair look fresh and in style. And Grace has been the go-to person for my daughter.-changing her hair color several times -always very professionally. What a wonderful team and a terrific find in Lafayette! Why is it so difficult to find someone who will listen? I'm an articulate adult and able to explain what I want but it doesn't see to matter, she just goes ahead and does whatever she wants. Doesn't anybody need customers enough to listen? After I was shampooed, I was sent back to the chair with one tiny thin towel on my shoulders, my mask and top of my sweater were soaking wet. Don't believe the 4-star rating... read the reviews for yourself. Things and people must have changed there since some of them were written.

I took my eleven year old daughter in to Evergreen Cottage for her first permanent and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were kind and courteous on the phone when I scheduled the appointment, even giving me some tips for the perm since it was new to me. They were excellent with my daughter when we arrived for our appointment and took their time giving her the look she had been hoping for. They treated her like the client, which was great, because some salons can be condescending to kids. Prices were fair, too. My only reason for not giving a five star rating was because parts of the salon are pretty dated. The room where nails are done and you sit under the dryer needs some updates because the chairs were falling apart. Seems like a lovely place that we'll return to, but it could use a little sprucing up.

I absolutely love Evergreen Cottage Salon! I am a person with very long, very wavy hair, and to make matters worse, I only cut it about once every 9-12 months. I do not trust anyone by Grace at Evergreen Cottage Salon to properly cut my crazy unruly hair. She is patient, non-judgmental, and provides a cut that will grow in nicely. In addition, Grace is exceptional with both of my daughters, both teenage and elementary age, she treats them as real clients, but always confirmed with me what they wanted, especially when they were younger. Lastly, I want to commend the ownership of Evergreen for the steps they have taken to keep us all save during Covid. They have dividers between chairs and even have the stylists wear face shields in addition to masks when washing hair. That shows a commitment to the safety of clients and their staff.
