Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant

I have come to realize that buffet food is “iffy” at best. I must order off a menu to fully appreciate food and this holds especially true for Indian cuisine. The buffet food was warm at best and the food descriptions provided were poorly done. Chicken curry, naan, some sort of beans, soft white rice (good), and another chicken dish were the main items I tried. The interior was surprisingly ornate after my eyes adjusted to the setting. Service was the pits; no one to greet and seat me; my water glass was taken away when I went for seconds as was my napkin. There was no check given just “ten dollars, please.”

I love this place. Great food and friendly service. I have only gone for dinner, but from what I can tell the lunch buffet is a great bargain. My favorites are the cashew curry and the fish curry. I always get it spicy, but they do serve it mild.

This is my first experience with this restaurant. Since i'm an Indian i look for typical indian flavor in indian foods and i can say without any doubt that this place is my 2nd favourite after spice & Curry in durham,NC...Again i have had food here only once. I still need to try their buffet, which tomorrow if we have time, we might and it might then become our 1st favourite :)...i have tried many indian restaurants in raleigh, cary, durham, charlotte but this one caught my attention after spice & curry (durham,nc)...we had ordered chicken curry, butter chicken, chicken 65, raita and garlic naan...all of it were very well cooked and very tasty...I placed my order online but i immediately got call from them to confirm my order again and to make sure how spicy we want our food. Overall, i can say that my experience here was really pleasant with the food as well as the staff and customer service...
