    We just got a Ford Escape from this company, we are super happy. The SUV is super smooth and smells new. It has 12,000 mile and drives and looks new. The people were super nice and helpful. I would buy from them again. John

    As I looked for a minivan from a dealer I quickly learned most used vans on island were originally rentals. This lead me to check out Hertz Car Sales. I can tell you, their price couldn’t be beat! I highly recommend you go check them out if you’re looking for a used car! Make sure you ask for Jason Garcia (Let him know I gave you his name). He is the man! 🤙🏼

    Well the customer service was good at first because they wanted to sell us a car. We purchased a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox with 30,000 miles for under $20,000 in their website since this was right in the thick of COVID. The car has ran well considering it sat in a field for months. Every time I start the car a faint smell of mold comes through the a/c vents. The real problem for me was when I went to change the oil, the service tech showed me how thick and black the oil was and the original oil filter was still on the car after 30,000 miles !!! Wow! Hertz never bothered to update the oil filter after 30,00 and the one they left on isn't even made anymore. On top of that it took months to finally receive our registration which had expired along with the safety sticker leaving me at risk to be pulled over for driving a car I just bought! They acted like it was no big deal when I called to see what the hold up was that should only take 45 days max not 4 months! They blamed it on COVID. I had to return 2 times for them to have the car safety checked just so they could complete the registration after waiting for it 4 months. Highly disorganized and out of touch. Based on my experience, I will not purchase another vehicle from them again.

    It sure would be a bummer if they remain closed. I bought my Mazda CX 5 from Jason in March 2020. I can’t say enough about this experience. This was a low pressure, no hassle, no haggle transaction. The price you see is the price you pay. The car was pristine and well detailed. 10,000 miles later still drives like a dream. I expect that to continue. Don’t fall for the myth that buying a rental car is a bad idea. Do your research, sure, but don’t dismiss this option out of hand. Beats going to any car dealer on the strip and suffering the fate of negotiating for hours with an agent who constantly has to “check with his manager”. Buying a car does not have to be an ordeal. I’d recommend hertz car sales to anyone. Hopefully this is not a permanent closure.

    Just to preface here: it is my first time buying a car. My older island car blew up last week; and I’ve been renting a car for the past week. I’m a teacher, and my school is 25 miles away from my house. I have been scrambling to find a downpayment for the car, and working with my credit union day and night to make room in my budget. On Wednesday, I went to the dealership and test drove a couple of cars. I was interested, but I really wanted the white. I went home, and pleaded with family members to help me out until my next pay check so that I wouldn’t have to throw more money into a rental car. This morning, I called to ask about the white Nissan Sentra. I have my downpayment, checked my insurance, called my credit union and did all of the work on my end. I did not receive a call back after being told I would, because “they were very busy”. I have been watching their website, and although they list over 6 of the cars in the color I am looking for, I was just informed that I will not be able to test drive the cars until I choose one to be “reconditioned”. I am only allowed to test drive after reconditioning. This could take 5-6 days, AND they will not recondition each of the cars because “they get way more SUV purchases”. So, I could end up spending over a thousand dollars in rental car fees while waiting for them to get their sh*t together. Why are there advertisements up for cars that cannot be tested before being asked to make a choice between? How would I be able to decide without testing each vehicle? Why am I not being treated like a customer or receiving calls back? I would assume, by tone of voice, that it is because I am buying one of the less expensive models. Way to take the joy out of a first purchase. Lame customer service, and not very kind over the phone. I was really excited to find nice salespeople at first, but WOW has my opinion changed.
