Catello's Italian Art Cuisine

IMO...best most authentic Italian Restaurant in Indy...most diverse sauces,,pasta, ambience...So sad... we arrived today to the see the permanently closed sign hanging...Who serves a zucchini sauce, a walnut sauce?  Never had a bad one there.....A shame... we will be headed to the original for real food, made with love...Support your locals!

I didn't care to be seated next to a half wall and having TMZ on the bar TV. The lamb tasted like pork, some clams had to be persuaded to open. I don't think I'm going back. Other choices abound. Food : 3/5 | Service : 3/5 | Atmosphere : 3/5 More

My husband and I had dinner at Catello's this past Saturday night. It was excellent! I had the pasta funghi with a cream sauce and it was unbelievable. My husband had homemade fresh tagliatelle with lamb. It was so good. The lamb was cooked to perfection. We started with Caesar salads and they were great. We both had coconut cake for dessert. There was a dob of apricot filling that was so good. Everything was exquisite. Our server Desiree was great, too. Very personable, nice and professional. We're both picky about Italian restaurants. I'm originally from the St. Louis area and grew up with wonderful Italian restaurants on The Hill and my husband's from NYC and grew up with wonderful Italian restaurants. I would venture to say Catello's is the best Italian restaurant in Indiana.  We're definitely going back soon and taking friends. Next time I'll take photos of the dishes!  If you want great Italian food, you won't be disappointed with Catello's.

I was completely disappointed with Catello's.  We had a post Xmas dinner planned here for 12/26/22.  When we arrived, nobody was at the front door, so after a wait we walked to the bar.  The restaurant was nearly empty yet we were asked if we had a reservation...seemed unnecessary, but we did.  While standing in the bar, a small child ran by us with a toy. We assumed he escaped from a table of diners. This child continued to run around while we dined, even jumping on the seats of the empty booths on both sides of ours staring at us. This continued even after we politely asked him to return to his party. Turns out that the little tormentor was the child of the owner. While the food was very good, the service was very slow given that there were only three other tables occupied, the server seemed uninformed and even served beer in unopened cans. We were looking for a new holiday tradition, unfortunately it certainly won't be Catello's...the out of control owners child was over-the-top unprofessional.
