Im sad about the changes that have happened here in the last 16 years. I wont let my anger give an unfair review but I will say when we came here 15 1/2 years ago we found a beautiful and caring community not so much anymore. In days of past you renew you lease you got a little perk, I choose to have my carpets cleaned instead of choosing one of the upgrades most years to keep their and my place looking nice but they no longer even offer this. To be fair they take care of the grounds and apartments beautifully I just feel Im being feed to death and the parking is atrocious. Get a garage or plan on coming home before 6/7 if you want a spot. Personally I feel they should have assigned spots for each apartment and actually tow if they dont have a pass. And their convenience fee to pay rent to ridiculous. You wont let us pay at the office as we could in years past and charge I think 37.50 to pay it on the website. Just seems unethical to MAKE someone pay online then charge them for it. But as I said fair so I must add every three months they come in and change my filter and spry for bugs, the lawn is mowed weekly and in most cases snow cleared same day, office staff is always friendly. I just keep thinking 144 units x 37.50 thats almost 5000 a month the complex makes just for us to pay rent, almost 60,000 a year just in fees to pay something you have to pay. There is just something thats not right about that

I dont even know where to start. Im sad to say that we stayed way longer than we would have. The place has a moldy odor to start. Maintenance on sight is absolutely horrible. Getting someone to call us back on a service request was absolutely like pulling teeth that wouldnt come out. The main property manager doesnt communicate well. And is very rude. Dont even get me started on the pool. All 3 years we were there it never opened on time, always was close when supposed to be open, and closes early every year for the summer. We had AC issues almost every summer too. Nothing is taken care of really well at all. Look at the dog park. Its a sad place to take an animal because its so poorly taken care of. But hey lets raise rent $45-60 a year to not pay for stuff that needs to be taken care of. We never needed a reason as to why we left. We are just glad we pushed ourselves to get out. Its easy to get used to being treated terribly in the apartment world. Please look at all other options before picking to live here. Its just not an amazing place to live by any means. ESPECIALLY for how much they charge for rent.

My sister applied here for an apartment and was told she was approved. She had put down the $300 and kept in contact with the apartment manager she had let her know that she was planning on moving at the end of the month and would call back since they had said that the apartment wouldnt be available until the 14th. She had called all week since the 14th and got no communication back whatsoever, I had been helping my sister with this process since it is her first apartment and today she finally received a call back. Me and her had previously discussed looking into another apartment because who wants to live somewhere where they wont even get in contact with you while you arent even a tenant there I cant imagine how it would be once youre actually living there. The lady on the phone said the $300 is non refundable once you have been approved even with no lease signed and stated that the manager had been on vacation since Friday and there was a letter on the door. My sister had been calling since the 14th of this month. My boyfriend and I are my sisters current landlords and we had trouble getting in contact with the office when we were trying to verify that she was our tenant which was not this month . So clearly this is an ongoing issue . If youre looking for a good apartment I would definitely recommend looking into Barrington Apartments and dont waste youre time applying here.

We lived here for a year. Within that year we were paying a fee every month for maintenance to come and spray for bugs and change the air filters. Although we were there every time they were supposedly coming, we only ever saw them once. Not to mention that there is not enough parking to accommodate for everyone living at the residence. More often than not we had to park on the street and walk up the hill to our unit, with groceries even. There is a towing policy that management does not enforce because there is always cars in the lot who do not have parking passes and no action is ever taken. The neighbors here are also very loud and if you file a complaint nothing will get done about it so I wouldnt even bother. There was also an issue where our air conditioner had a slow leak and caused black mold to grow in our unit. We had argued with management and lived in these conditions for over a month and a half. After getting absolutely nowhere with them we decided to file to move out. During this mold situation, we had a huge puddle that splashed you as you walked down the hall and in one of the bedrooms. They had serve pro come in with about 7 big fans to dry the place out. Serve pro had a key to enter our place as pleased and did not give us any notice as to when they were going to be showing up. We were woken up many times because there were random men banging around in our unit during this time. Due to the fans, the electric bill was $100 more than we had ever paid. In response to this management said that this was due to hot temperatures although our AC hardly ran and hadnt moved a degree; the next month our bill was back down $100 to where it normally was. They did not want to reimburse us for any of the money that we spent on their use of our electricity. This place does not care about their residents as much as they care about scamming you out of money.
