The experience from start to finish was amazing! Our bus driver Derek was very knowledgeable and entertaining during the drive to the swamp. Our captain was Sam who has to be the best captain and made sure we had fun and seems to really enjoy his job!

I went on a vip tour with Cajun Encounters. It was a really wonderful experience. I didnt do a review the day of the tour because my phone would connect properly. I dont remember my captains name but he lived on the water! He was very thorough in telling us about the wildlife, the swamp, New Orleans and in general a perfect job! He made sure we got to hold a baby alligator when we got back to the gift shop. It was one of my favorite things I did in New Orleans! The boat was nice, the gift shop was affordable and shelter/waiting area was lovely. Im so thankful I was able to go on this tour! I took a million pictures! Great staff well worth every penny! I wish I could remember my captains name?! I can share pictures with you all if want any! Thank you very much!

We had a great time on the swamp tour. We saw several gators, raccoons, snakes, all sorts of birds. I think one major difference with Cajun Encounters is that most of the companies I looked at were using giant pontoons with dozens of people, while we got to go on a smaller flat-bottomed boat with few enough seats that everyone was able to sit along the railing facing out, and see everything. Captain Ketchup did a great job explaining local history, how different plants were used, gator facts, how Katrina affected the bayous, and most importantly was great at spotting the critters. Our driver Ty (the Extraordinary) was great too and gave us all sorts of food recommendationswe did try the grilled oysters today and they were excellent. I would definitely recommend, and I would want to go back myself a different time of the year to see if there are different creatures out!
