Dan has designed and installed patios at 2 different homes in which I have lived. At the first he had to level our yard for a patio and install a retaining wall- and he used materials we had on hand for an unexpected part of the job. At our next house he installed a patio with a built- in fire pit in our pool area! Gorgeous. We called him after we had some flooding and a freeze knock some stones out of whack and he fixed it at no cost - although it was not due to any error on his part! I look forward to counting on his services again- knowing Ill get high quality, reliable work at a fair price. Services: Retaining walls, Driveway or walkway paving

Dan built a beautiful patio and retaining wall for us two summers ago, and we are having him back this summer to lay the foundation for our new greenhouse and to create a base in the yard for some statuary. He's a dependable, straightforward, and talented craftsman. I trust his judgment and his eye for detail. .

Very disappointing service. I hired Birmingham to replace a lawn, Dan and his crew worked very hard to remove large rhododendrons and a large tree stump, scrape, grade, spread loam, rake and hydroseed. A little more than half of the new lawn is perfect but the rest has numerous bare spots and what did grow is mostly weeds. I called Dan and after he said "I'm not God", his excuses were: We didn't water enough, he always gets weeds at this time of year and we got good coverage for hydroseed. All of these might have been true if the entire lawn looked the same but only certain areas (where I think one of the loads of loam he spread wasn't good) are like this. Dan's last comment was that he is tired of "lazy and cheap people trying to steal from him" and he won't respond to any communication now.

My wife and I hired Dan to demo an old patio and concrete walkway, and to build a new patio, retaining wall, and stairway. We ended up adding a cobblestone walkway next to our driveway, a new walkway to the front door, and also moving our front stonewall forward a bit. All the work was done beautifullly, efficiently, and always to the quoted budget.Dan is really an artist with the work he does. We had seen his work before when he'd done work down the street from us, which is what made us decide to hire him. He takes your ideas, clarifies what you want, and then just goes to work on it. We were interested in watching as the process evolved, and Dan was always willing to explain what he was doing and solicit input when decision needed to be made. He exceeded our expectations in that he was always looking at the best way that things could be done, and there were several personal touches he added at no additional cost. When we added to the scope of the project, Dan always gave us a solid price quote for the additons and stuck to it.His quote was very simple and straightfroward, but did lack some details that we hadn't realized would be included in the price. For instance bringing in additional loam and reseeding parts of our lawn, putting down additional crushed stone, and generally bringing a level of detail to all of the work beyond what was specifically spelled out in the contract. He consistently exceeded our expectations.

I am a little late writing this but i have to recommend Birmingham Landscape Construction for your next outdoor project. My first impression of Dan was a lasting one. He was professional, pleasant, non-aggressive, and honest. The price was fair as well. He was also extremely accommodating. I needed my project finished by labor day for a house warming party. At first, he wasn't sure if he'd be able to get it done in that time frame, but he made a point to make it happen for me. The work wasn't rushed and the final product is absolutely beautiful. Again, you cant go wrong with this company.
