My mom moved in a year ago. Staffing problems. Nurses quitting, no communication. Horrible food and no compassion for the residents! Moving her out asap!!!!!

We placed a family member in The Charlotte A. Living in 2021. It is a nice facility with lovely interiors. It also has a Memory Care unit which made it seem like a good choice. The family member brought some potential challenges, however they were wanting to get into Assisted Living, and we thought she would acclimate very well. Almost immediately there were growing problems. The accounts of what we personally saw and heard from the family member, and the staff differed significantly. Inconsistencies seemed to abound. We started making calls to the county ombudsman. She was familiar with the Executive Director. More calls were exchanged. We eventually had to get outside help to have her placed in another facility (where she is doing well). She was a resident of TC for less than a year. During this process, we learned the hard way about "State Scores" for AL facilities, and a term called hospital dumping. Recently, we learned that the Ex. Director is no longer there at TC, but has moved on to another facility. It was a stressful, very unpleasant and expensive experience.

I went to visit my father in law who moved in to The Charlotte last week.I was so impressed and happy about everything I saw. The staff is sweet, personable, and truly care for the residents! They interact with visitors and make sure all needs are met! Im a nurse and have seen the worst in care. This place is phenomenal! My husband and I are in Chicago and we are so thankful knowing our Dad is being cared for the way he deserves to be. My mother in law found this gem and is able to be with her husband as often as she wants , which is daily! His residence is updated, clean , and brand new! Thank you to The Charlotte!!
