New to Charlotte, read reviews and decided to give Art a try. Previously went to another shop for a diagnostic and came out with a leak. Made my mind up that I did not want to continue with the other shop. Visit Art asked him about the leak he said it's small no biggie. Few months later I get a light for Transmission, come to Art. Art fixes Transmission but then tells me about the leak that was no BIGGIE - now a rear main seal leak. Little did I know in order to get to the rear main seal the Transmission has to be lifted. Art knew, but insisted that he doesn't repair engine leaks. Apparently any GOOD and Honest Mechanic would have shared/ offered to fix with charge as they had the Transmission up. However I paid $2,800 for Transmission repair and still have a leak that would have cost $50 to repair while transmission was up. Now he referred me to another shop that charges $1,600 for a rear main seal replacement. Even that shop said HE - ART should have at least offered to repair while he had the transmission up. I am very disappointed and want everyone to be AWARE. Especially women who may not be as mechanically inclined. You live and you Learn! I will not be going back nor refer anyone to ART. For Now I do not have any issues with the transmission, Hope it stays that way.

I really needed to find a local transmission shop for my classic 1967 Thunderbird with a C6 transmission. I just happened to find TransART online and decided to take a drive over. At the very least, I was hoping they might know someone to rebuild my transmission if they didn't. Not only did Art know the C6, but he's rebuilt many. We made arrangements, I took the car over, and after he dropped the transmission, I happen to stop by. With me watching, he completely dismantled the entire thing in 15 minutes, explaining to me along the way what was good and bad. Turns out it wasn't in horrible condition, but certainly needed refreshing. He takes pride in his work and it shows. WOW...a week later and it drives like a completely different classic car! Very nice to deal with, professional, honest and I would HIGHLY recommend Art to anyone needing transmission work! OH, and it came in UNDER the original quote. Thanks Art - GREAT JOB!
