Reliable. In 2019 I chose to purchase a dilapidated duplex, which required a complete renovation. Since the project was financed through the HUD 203k program it required the contractor to navigate quite a bit of paperwork, and required some risk for the general contractor due to the draw structure. Of all the general contractors I reached out to, Mr. Fix It was the one that answered the phone and showed-up to appointments on-time, every time. They proved time and again they did business with integrity, and demonstrated a commitment to quality work. Over the course of six months, the Mr. Fix It team helped turn what can only be described as a haunted house into a home I am proud to both live in and rent to tenants. Projects included repair and/or replacement of the following: complete removal and replacement of knob-and-tube electrical working, water and sewage plumbing, natural gas lines, roof shingles, masonry work on damaged chimney stacks, damaged fascia and gutters, stucco damage, interior painting, hardwood floor refinishing, tiling, carpet, custom trim, windows, drywall and plaster repair, cabinets and quartz countertops, and HVAC repair. This list almost certainly scratches the surface of the amount of work that was completed. The value of Mr. Fix It is the focus on customer service and quality work. No matter what new project or side-task I brought to them, they could make it happen or knew a subcontractor that could. There was a clear focus on doing it right the first time, and they would make sure work was corrected if it was not. On one occasion a subcontractor was called back to redo all the exterior caulking around the new windows because they had used a low-quality caulk the first time. That level of commitment to quality was seen throughout the duration of the project. In summary, I would recommend Mr. Fix It to anyone looking for a contractor with integrity, great communication, and a commitment to quality work.

Bill Davis took a week to get back to me from my initial phone call. He told me he charges an $84 fee to do an estimate which could be applied to the cost of the job if I selected him. After more than 2 weeks he has yet give me the quote. I have called him repeatedly and there is no response. I also told him not to deposit the check as the debit card number was stolen and the thieves wiped out the bank account. I left a message not to cash it until he talked to me as I was waiting for the bank to replace the stolen funds. He did it anyway. Since he did not furnish me with an estimate I consider this theft and am looking into my options. Funny thing is he was recommended by the relative of a friend. Not professional and a thief! Avoid this guy!

Called to get a receptacle installed, electrician showed up and installed it with excess wire (10 AWG) in the receptacle wall box, he pushed the receptacle to fasten it to the box, the second I plugged in my plug a short circuit with a blow in the receptacle happened. I called and took pics to show the tech what happened, he fixed it ( cut the excess wiring ) and admitted it was his fault. The short caused all high voltage devices to fail (AC, Stove, Furnace. Microwave and water heater) effectively killing a whole phase at the meter. Owner comes in "for emergency check" and confirms one phase at the meter was dead and suggests I call the electric company to send a tech to fix it, Electric Company tech comes and he tests the meter working fine and he points out the fault in the fuse after the meter. Owner of Mr. Fix it blames my device for causing the short circuit, I took my device to a friend and tested it and it powered on and functioned fine, for extra peace of mind and confirmation I called technical support and they checked the device and found no fault in it, I requested a replacement under warranty, they sent a new replacement and I had to pay for shipping out of pocket because the original device had no issues to be covered under their return policy. Owner of the company shows up at my door step to install the fuse demanding I pay him for the fuse that got damaged by their work, his "emergency check" and his labor fixing the fuse. Bottom Line : Very Unprofessional, overcharge, incompetent service and inability to make things right or satisfy customers. Advice : Be Careful using the company specially with electric work. Be very specific about the charges, nature of work done, request a break down of the bill and make sure no room is there to add any extra charges on you.

Called for a quote to install an exterior door and Bill answered. He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and saved me a lot of time/money. I have not gotten to use his services, but he will be the first handyman I call the next time I need one.
