Steve Short, CGMA, CPA

Steve Short was our CPA. He seemed generous with his advice. One year as we got our prepared returns, I noticed two entries on the return were incorrect. I called Steve and he stated something to the effect of "Oops! ...I'm sorry! I will have a correct return ready for you by the time you get here. " I thought , "Well, all humans can and will make errors." The following year I called him to be certain he could do my returns again. (It was about April 7.) He said "Sure! Just leave them in the file box outside my home. (At that time he conducted business in the dining room of his home. A reasonable approach as he suffered from a back injury.) April 14 I called Steve to learn what progress had been made as I had not heard from him. Kept getting his voice mail. Found his business card and called his mobile phone. He told me he was on vacation at Table Rock in his motor home and "NO, your return has not been completed. NOBODY who brings me returns 8 days before the filing date should expect them to be ready .. " (=NOT what he stated in our earlier conversation.) I was forced to file for an extension with the IRS to avoid being penalized. I sought out a new CPA who accurately does work on a timely basis with no drama. =If the 'Steve treatment' is the type of "service" you seek in a FINANCIAL PROFESSIONAL, one will be well pleased with Mr. Steve Short.

Mr. Short was a very open and kind man that took the time to listen to our tax questions. His prices are reasonable and he has a very vast knowledge of Business taxes as well as non profit organizations. He is very honest and was sure to express his concern that he would have no part in anything that was not on the up and up.
