Family was in town and wanted to go bowling. Arrived there early in the evening and planned to do some bowling as well as trying some food there. But we were instead informed that they only had one lane open that was in use, so there was "nothing they could do." I can't say I know the ins and outs of bowling alley operations, but the existence of 4-5 other, unused, lanes struck me as especially odd and insulting. We were also the only individuals wearing masks (from what I could see), so I hope that it wasn't that. I'm glad to see the kids that were already there were enjoying themselves, but I guess they also didn't have shoes in their sizes since they were just bowling in socks. Again, not an alley expert, but from what I can glean from a brief online search, the whole point of these shoes is to keep the lanes clean and provide as safe an environment as possible. 🤷 Fairly unpleasant experience all around so I can't say I'll be returning or inviting others there in the future. The one upside is how we all had a great laugh about the ridiculousness of it all, which will surely be a great memory for visiting family to tell others about Kemmerer.
