My taxes was taken from me a, I dont owe anything. They never explain why.ive called the irs and they said they didn't take it.so what's the story now.tthey was called back and said there was nothing they can do to explain how and why.i would never go back there again.they lied.could anyone tell me how I can report these people.irs doesn't have this on file of them doing my taxes.ive called them myself

Stay as far away from McMann Tax Service, as possible. James J Sorris a/k/a "Jim", had the audacity to e-file a tax return, WITHOUT my knowledge or consent and never even bothered contacting me, to tell me.
NEVER give them access to your paperwork and NEVER let them copy any documents, if you have no intention of using them.
I met "Jim" at the South Mall office, once. I allowed "Jim" to look over my scratch pad (for expenses), W2, 1099s, etc... and he made copies of the documents, which I didn't think much of, at the time.
When "Jim" could not answer a very simple question regarding the question of multiple 1099s, I decided NOT to use them and left. Anyone preparing taxes should have known the answer. I had no further contact with the service and that was the end of that - or so I thought.
It was not until I received an overdue IRS tax bill, for thousands of dollars and met with an IRS Field Agent, that I discovered James J Sorris a/k/a "Jim", filed the return, without my permission, knowledge or consent.
I never agreed with the service to file my papers. I never signed any papers, agreeing to use their service and frankly, wanted nothing to do with a service that could not answer a simple question.
If anyone else runs into the same type of misconduct, by this firm or any other, IMMEDIATELY make an appointment with your local IRS Field Office.
When you are at the office, ask for an ENTIRE transcript of your account and make sure a copy of the return filed without your consent, is included in the transcript.
First, to report the service, file Form 14157-A, Tax Return Preparer Fraud or Misconduct Affidavit and Form 14157, Complaint: Tax Return Preparer.
Both forms are available online or you can call the IRS to have them mail the forms to you.
You will also need to file an amended tax return: Form 1040X.
There is more, but this shoud help point anyone in the right direction, who has been the victim of McMann tax service or any of these other "seasonal" tax workers.
