SmokeTree Resort and Bungalows

Wow. This is one of those old-fashioned resorts that are disappearing from the American landscape. The rooms are very comfortable and large, although a bit dated. The grounds are beautiful and there is a lovely heated swimming pool. They have horseshoes and bocce ball and it is close to Great stores and restaurants. I wish we had been able to stay for a week. I truly loved this place. Oh, the best part is that it is very pet-friendly! I am sad to report this wonderful, historic,resort has closed! Shame on Scottsdale.

Smoketree Resort is an older resort owned and managed by a family. Each room opens on a large shaded green area, each with a patio and chairs. Its a restful, quiet place to stay, and its our local favorite. There are refrigerators and coffee makers in the rooms, and there is a upscale grocery store nearby. Prices are significantly lower than other Scottsdale/Paradise Valley resorts or motels. It doesnt look impressive from the road since there is a closed restaurant in the front, but once you drive around to the rooms, you find a sweet and restful retreat.
