Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital

The main purpose of this location is to extract as much money from your wallet as possible. I had an appointment for my dog to be examined, since the vet would not renew his prescriptions without an exam. He was diagnosed with heart failure over two years ago and has been coming to this Vetco for exams and to get his prescriptions renewed. When Hannah Mitchell, the vet, walked into the room, she proceeded to attempt to hit me up for around $1000 in tests. I asked her what the point was, since he appeared to be doing well on his meds. She said he could have kidney failure. Well, wouldn't he show signs of kidney failure? Like excess water consumption? Or other signs? So she wanted to charge me almost $1000 in case he had something that he was showing no signs of? She is also perfectly aware that heart failure is a degenerative disease, and that nothing much can be done when the dog has had heart failure for years, if he starts to go downhill. But she was perfectly willing to attempt to charge me thousands for a test that would tell me what I already know, that he has heart failure? Also, when I declined the expensive tests, all she did was flop one of his ears up and look inside it, then gave me his new prescriptions. I paid over $70 for an exam, and she didn't even check his heart rate, check his teeth, or other basic things they do when you pay for an exam. I guess she couldn't be bothered. To make matters worse, a little over a month later my dog had started going downhill, with fluid build-up in his abdomen, and trouble breathing. I called to try and get an appointment to see if he should be euthanized, since he was having trouble breathing. The Vetco operator told me there were no appointments available within the next few days. I asked if an exception could be made to see my dog, since he had been a patient at this Vetco for two years. And since if he needed to be euthanized, the actual procedure only takes 15 minutes or so. The operator told me she would contact the vet at Glendale and that they would get back to me. Neither Hannah Mitchell nor any of her staff bothered to call me back at all. I suspect it may be because I didn't agree to her thousands of dollars of pointless tests. This is completely heartless and just proves they are only in it for a paycheck. Furthermore, if you scroll through the Google reviews here, you will see that Hannah MItchell gave herself a 5 star review. That tells you all you need to know about Hannah Mitchell.

Sam the tech was very friendly and quick, he has a profound love for dogs. Adrianna the front desk was really kind and quick, before I knew it I was leaving with a happy dog and a smile on my face.
